Late one night, a man heading home after a long day of manual labor saves a woman from being hit by a speeding car. To his shock, she admits that she deliberately stepped into traffic and tells him not to worry about her. Refusing to ignore her words, he urges her never to attempt such a thing again. Intrigued by his unexpected concern, she makes him a strange offer: if he agrees to sleep with her, she promises to stay alive for one more day. Thus begins a time-limited romance between a man who desperately wants to live and a woman who has lost the will to survive.
