Tapas, a webtoon and prose publishing platform owned by Kakao Entertainment, was founded in 2012 by Young-Jun Jang and Chang Kim. The platform, formerly known as Tapastic and Comic Panda, caters mainly to young adult women, with romance and fantasy as popular genres. Operating on a freemium model, Tapas offers free and paid series. Criticism has been leveled at the app for a cluttered interface and limitations on accessing content via ad-watching.
